What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis causes tissue that is similar to the lining of the uterus to grow in other places where it doesn’t belong. It can cause pelvic pain and heavy periods, as well as fertility issues. Treatment for endometriosis involves medication, surgery or a combination of both.
How Do I Know if I have Endometriosis?
Our team cannot diagnose Endometriosis for you. Speak with your doctor if you are experiencing some of the most common symptoms for Endometriosis:
- chronic pelvic pain
- heavy bleeding during periods or between periods
- trouble getting pregnant
- bloating or nausea
- fatigue
- depression or anxiety
How Common is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a common condition that affects about 1 in 10 women. Healthcare providers most often diagnose it in people in their 20s and 30s.
You may qualify for our studies if you:
– Are a premenopausal woman ages 18-49
– Have been surgically diagnosed with Endometriosis by Laparoscopy
– Experience moderate to severe Endometriosis pain
